This necklace is an homage to Helena Blavatsky, a famous mystic.  She is so inspiring for her investigations into the unknown. The crescent moon and glittering star of the night sky are symbolic of the spirit and material worlds we can not yet know. 
 Designed and assembled in our Sonoma California studio.

14k gold plated brass and coated to resist tarnish with Czech crystals

Care Instructions

Gold Plating

Our plating is a genuine fine 24k gold. The gold is applied to a base metal (brass in this case) in a very thin layer. Gold plated jewelry is an affordable option to solid gold. You can lengthen the life of the gold layer by removing your jewelry when swimming in pools and especially the ocean. Also while exercising. Salt and chemicals break down the gold layer. Do not use a polishing cloth with chemicals to clean plated jewelry as the gold will rub right off.

Sterling Silver

Silver will always oxidize over time. Silver cleaners are available in most grocery stores or pharmacies. 

Brass

Everyone loves the warm, earthy color of brass. Although brass will oxidize over time, you can always polish it up with a polishing cloth or brass cleaner.  You can also seal it with clear nail polish or a jewelry sealer and that will prevent it from tarnishing.

The perfect anniversary present

I first heard about amano studio when I saw some earrings of theirs with a lunar motif being sold in a bookstore and bought them as a birthday gift for a friend. Fast forward a year and some change and it was a no-brainer deciding what to get my now girlfriend for our anniversary.

Even disregarding the sentimental aspect, I'm a big fan of amano's understated and practical but no less stunning approach to beauty. Their pieces strike me as jewelry that's meant to be worn and enjoyed rather than coveted and only taken out for special occasions. Fair prices and quick shipping, they even included a little pair of earrings with my order at no extra charge.
